Does your child have a heart for all things furry? Is there a future Veterinarian in your family? Then CAP Kids & Kritters Summer Camp will make your child’s day!

Kids & Kritters camp is a half day week-long camp for boys and girls ages 7-13 during the summer months at the CAP Animal Shelter & Pet Adoption Center. Games, crafts and hands-on animal interactions make each day FUN and help children to develop a positive attitude toward all living beings.

All camps are 8:30AM – Noon

Rescue Reptiles

Kids 7+, June 4-8 & July 16-20

The truth will be revealed about some of nature's most misunderstood creatures in this introduction to the wonderful world of reptiles. We will explore common myths and discover basic reptile facts through safe interactions with a few of our slithery friends and reptile themed games and crafts. Featured animals may include snakes, tortoise, lizards and other amazing animals including many native species. $250

Vet Adventures - Sold Out

Grades 5-8, June 11-15 & July 9-13

Do you have what it takes to become a veterinarian? Learn to detect, prevent and treat pet ailments. Investigate mysterious pet behaviors. And hunt for patient zero. This camp will cover standard veterinary services and the prevention and treatment of common medical ailments that affect our companion pets and each other. Campers will participate in basic animal care activities such as walking dogs. $250

Operation Wildlife 

Kids 7+, June 18-22 & July 23-27

Cats and dogs are not the only animals that live in Texas. Go wild for the many species that share our backyards.  Kids will get to learn to protect and appreciate local wildlife species while meeting their domestic and tame counterparts.  $250

Fur-Ever Friends - Sold Out

Grades 2-5, June 25-29

This camp celebrates our relationship with animals. Campers will learn about proper pet care, animal needs, dog bite prevention and kindness for all living creatures. We will make connections between animals and our own life experiences and learn how to care for and communicate with many of our favorite furry friends. $200

Humane Heroes

Grades 5-8, July 30-Aug 3

Explore the challenges animals face in our world today and learn how to help. Games and activities teach training tips, proper animal handling, and give kids tool they can use now to help pets and the many people who love them. CAP strives to empower the next humane generation to make better choices for themselves and our animal friends. $200
