Derek Dog Day Out

derek-day-09 Hotel Derek is kicking off an event of a different breed for animal lovers. On July 30 from 6 to 9PM, CAP invites you and your pooch to join Madison, this year's Project Derek Dog, at the hotel for hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. Mix and mingle with other professionals - it's all for the animals!

Newspaper Pizza Party!

Join us for our monthly party where we unfold newspapers so we can prepare our residents' temporary homes as they await adoption. Enter the 5th Annual Dog House Competition!

Citizens for Animal Protection is thrilled to announce that we are now reserving spaces for entries in the 5TH Annual Designer Doghouse Competition at the Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows this July 16-19, 2009! Contestants create and build a unique puppy palace to submit for auction at the event with all proceeds benefiting homeless animals. Only first 25 entires will go to the competition so enter today!

HB 1320 Cockfighting Legislation

Although cockfighting itself is illegal, HB 1320 makes owning or operating a cockfighting facility or equipment, training a cock to fight, or attending a cockfight illegal.

HB 1046 - Animal Abuse Appeals Legislation

HB 1046 will change current law to allow owners who are convicted of animal abuse to appeal their convictions.

2009 Texas Animal Legislation

CAP supports the Texas Federation of Animal Care Services and Texas Humane Legislative Network in writing, monitoring, and supporting or protesting animal-related bills introduced to the Texas legislature. Support house bills 435, 458, 554, and 634 today!

Your Best Friend Deserves a Microchip!

If your pet is ever lost, a microchip can help him or her come home to you. CAP offers microchipping for $30 every day from 1-5PM, and on the last Sunday of the month, you can have your pet microchipped for $25.
