Subaru Partnership

Did you know that seven out of ten Subaru owners have a pet and 60% of all Subaru owners have dogs? As part of their manufacturing process, Subaru purposely makes their vehicles dog friendly! Many Subaru vehicles have been lauded as great automobiles for pet owners. The Subaru Forrester was named by AAA Motor Club as one of the Top Dog Friendly Cars for car owners with an active lifestyle. The Subaru Outback was chosen as one of the 2010 Top Ten Pet Safe Vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show. Additionally, the Subaru 5-Door Imprezza, Outback, Forrester and Tribecca were designed with amenities to make traveling with your dog safe, convenient and fun. Features include a designated pet area and pet gear storage which secure precious cargo while protecting the interior and exterior of your car from pet traffic wear. All of these amenities support your dog in feeling safe, secure and happy to be along for the ride.

Because they love pets, Subaru has donated over 2.6 million in the last 2 years to various animal welfare organizations. They also encourage their dealers to get involved with local animal shelters. Answering the call to support local pet organizations, West Houston Subaru is teaming with Citizens For Animal Protection (CAP) to support our mission of finding homes for Houston’s stray and unwanted animal population. As CAP was in the process of building their new facility at Barker Cypress and I-10, Subaru quickly took the opportunity to approach CAP about partnering to help the animals. West Houston Subaru owner Gloria Meszaros notes, “ We were so moved by the cleanliness, organization and genuine love for the animals that we knew this was the right partner for us.” West Houston Subaru is a family owned dealership which means they are committed to customer satisfaction and truly care about their customers. As part of their commitment to the CAP and the animals they serve, West Houston Suburu will be hosting the following adoption events in 2011 where they will sponsor a minimum of half of the adoption fee:

1. January 30 - February 6: House Warming at CAP Facility
2. March 19: Certified Pre-Owned Dogs and Cats at Subaru dealership
3. June 1-30 Adopt-a-Cat Month at CAP facility.
4. August 20: Certified Pre-Owned Dogs and Cats at Subaru dealership
5. October 29-30: Howl-o-ween at CAP facility
6. December 11-12: Home for the Holidays at CAP facility
