Aren't I GORGEOUS??!  My fur is as soft as a rabbit and I have stunning green eyes.  But the best part is, I am as sweet and affectionate as I am beautiful!  I love to be petted and have my belly rubbed.  Sadly, my owner could no longer keep me, so now I am looking for a truly FOREVER home this time.  I am friendly with everybody and love to play with my toys.  I am ok with other cats but would also be just fine as an only cat.  I am 2 years old, spayed, and ready to go home with some very lucky person.  For questions, please email Deborah.

Kuro Kitten 9270392

Kuro is a 6 month old male kitten who is lively and spirited and will amuse you for hours on end. He likes to follow you around the house to keep you in his line of sight and will ambush you when you least expect it. He is a good bed companion  and will sleep by your side. Although he is sweet and adorable, he does play rough and would do best with adults who will give him his space. He is also compatible with other cats. He is litter box trained and is ready to go to his forever home. I am a 5 year old Domestic Shorthair gal with a white and black coat and green eyes.  I may be part Oriental Shorthair, as well, but regardless of my breed mix, I have some of the neatest markings! The black markings on my head resemble a "mullet,"  and the markings on my back form a sort of Yin Yang.  I am hoping to find the perfect family who'll love me for the rest of my days.  I'd do fine in a home with older children and adults, and if introduced very slowly, I should be okay with another cat or a cat-friendly dog.  I have all of my claws, I'm already spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and ready to go home.  Please don't be deterred by my "age" as cats can live 15-20 years, and adopting an adult cat is so much better for many people for a number of reasons.  For starters, unlike a kitten, I won't climb up your pant leg or your fancy window curtains.  You won't have to spend nearly as much on me at the vet's office because I only require annual vaccination boosters.  You wouldn't have to worry that I may become a totally different cat in a few months time because my personality is well-established:  I'm loving, pretty mellow, and yet I still enjoy hunting fake fur mice and flying feather toys (and I like having my belly rubbed on occasion!).  I'm low-maintenance: I don't need someone to play with me all day long and teach me cat manners like a kitten would.  And finally, with all the kittens at the shelter now, you'd be earning some major points for recognizing the beauty in a mature kitty like me, and your reward would be sharing your life with a really great cat.   NOTE: I will be at the First Colony PetSmart  Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  You can call the adoption counselor there at (832) 677-2271 to find out if I'm still available.    For more information email my foster, Carla.

Cream Puff is a lovely, sweet seven years old, Turkish Van mix who is healthy, never gets fur matts!  SUPER sweet lap cat.  Also, likes to sit on back of couch to rub her head against your head and sometimes try to groom your hair. She LOVES everybody. People 11 + should be fine, maybe even a small gentle dog.  She tolerates getting her nails trimmed pretty good.  She has a funny squeaky meow.  Ideally she'd be PERFECT for a mature couple that want a low maintenance cat.  She eats Purina cat chow.  Left out for free choice. Rocky is medium-haired blue neutered male, about 10 months old.  He lived as a semi-feral in his foster home for the first 3 months he was there, but has calmed down considerably since then.  He is very affectionate, will climb up and roll all over his human and nudge her.  He enjoys being brushed, is litter-trained, and gets along well with other cats.   He would do best in a quiet adult household that contains at least one other friendly cat.  To meet him or for questilons, please email his foster.  NOTE: I may be at a Petsmart location, so please ask.

Needing to find placement for an animal?

If you have an animal, either your own or a stray, and the animal needs placing please read about the CAP Weekend Sponsor Program.  CAP does accept animals at the shelter but the Weekend Sponsor Program is a way of ensuring that the animal is not put to sleep.  
*NOTE: If you are not located near CAP's shelter, you may try a Petsmart or Petco on a Saturday to see if another group in your area offers a similar program.  Please remember that foster homes are always full and you will need to offer to foster the animal in order to enroll them in this special 'life saving' program.

To 'confirm' if an animal is still available for adoption, you must phone CAP Shelter during normal business hours at 281-497-0591. Please do NOT write. When phoning you MUST provide both the name and the number for the animal and what type animal it is, such as dog, cat, rabbit, etc. NOTE: Things change daily so please do NOT call more than 24 hours before you intend to visit the animal.
