If you have been assigned to do community service work at CAP, please review the following information before calling CAP to sign up for the required Orientation Class. You MUST attend an Orientation Class prior to working community service hours at our shelter – NO exception. Orientation classes take one hour, and you will receive credit of one hour of community service work. If you want to stay after Orientation and work for a few hours, you must wear appropriate clothing, which consists of an older pair of jeans, t-shirt and tennis shoes or boots. No tank tops, short skirts or short shorts, and no sandals or flip flops will be allowed while you are signed in for community service hours.
Orientation Classes are held on MOST Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at CAP, which is located at 17555 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77094. We are on the south side feeder road of Katy Freeway, just east of Barker Cypress, next to TILE ZONE. Orientation Class begins PROMPTLY at 9:30 AM, so it is imperative you arrive NO LATER than 9:30 AM, as the door is locked, class begins at 9:30 AM, and anybody arriving after 9:30 will have to come back for Orientation Class at a later date.
Before calling CAP to see when the next available Orientation Class is, please note the following:
- You MUST be 18 years old – NO EXCEPTIONS.
