Each year, more than 400 active volunteers donate their time, talents and efforts to help our sheltered animals. Their willing hands and caring attitudes can calm anxious dogs and cats when they first arrive at our shelter, guide worried families as they look for lost pets, foster animals needing special care, wait on customers in our pet supply shop or thrift store, and help with special events. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator.

Every month, CAP holds events to help raise funds to underwrite daily operations as well as build CAP's future. Won't you join us in celebrating our donors and supporting CAP's cause? Contact our Special Events Coordinator for more information.

CAP is always on the lookout for events in the Houston community where companion animals are the star attraction. Show pride in your pets and your city by attending one of these events. Think CAP may be interested in your community event? Contact our Community Outreach Director.

CAP regularly hosts adoption promotion events. Come by the shelter to meet your new special family member and save on adoption fees!

We greatly appreciate your support and donations for the last several years but due to the closing of our CAP Thrift Store we will no longer be able to accept certain items. With rent and utilities continuing to increase we must cut our overhead and consider what is best for the animals we care for at the CAP shelter. Starting our eBay site this year has greatly added to the funds we are able to raise with very little overhead costs. We hope you will continue to help the animals by donating the items we will be able to accept and know there are always some exceptions to every rule. Thank you for helping us with this new adventure. Your support is greatly appreciated.
