AGE REQUIREMENTS:
Age 12 to 15 must have a parent/legal guardian attend orientation with them and also do volunteer work in the same room with them at all times. (Please, the parent should also be helping and NOT just 'watching' other people work! Thanks!)
Age 16 to 17 may work alone,  but a parent/legal guardian must sign a legal release.
Also, to volunteer in the Pet/Gift Shop, volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Attention TEENS: If you are a Teen who loves animals, Visit our Teen Link
page.

If you decide to volunteer please REMEMBER it is about HELPING THE ANIMALS. That means doing what is NEEDED such as walking the dogs, bathing animals, making sure animals have water and or making sure their cage is clean.  Some people want to just 'hang around' and 'look at or hold' the cute animals or they want to do something they think is 'fun'. Volunteering is about doing what is 'NEEDED'. A shelter can be a scary place for animals. Volunteers can be beneficial in making the time that the animals spend at the shelter more pleasant. Thank you for understanding and caring.
Please do NOT bring young children(under 12) with you when you are volunteering at the shelter. Please let them know that when they are 12 they can begin volunteering with you. Thanks.

Questions regarding the 'web site' E-Mail.

It would be kind of you to bring a bag of Rawhide Chew FLIPS! The dogs spend many hours in a cage waiting for a home and something rugged to chew on would help to give them something to do! The CAP store (and Wal-Mart) sells Rawhide CHEW FLIPS which are the perfect size for the shelter dogs. (about $7.99)

Save your old newspapers!
CAP Needs lots of Newspaper so please bring any you have with you!
It would be nice if it was already 'unfolded'.  Thanks!
Newspaper is used to line the cages and the supply is depleted quickly.

Please consider bring a bag of 'medium' size checksticks for the dogs.
They spend many hours in a cage and this gives them something to do.

These can be found a Petsmart, Pectco, Target and Walmart.
CAP store 'may' have the medium size but often do not.

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal.
And I was angry.
"God," I said, "this is terrible!
Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly.
"I have done something,"   He replied.
"I created YOU.”

Spread the word !!!!

A COLOR FLYER for CAP Shelter can be laminated to make it last forever.
It can be placed in vet offices or any place where it might be beneficial.
Please make sure to ask permission.

Black and White flyers are great for making a larger quantity.
