We came to CAP looking for a 2nd dog, a friend for our Zuri. Tilly had recently had her front leg amputated, stayed with a foster to recover and was back at the shelter.
She looked so calm and sad in her cage, yet trusting. Her eyes spoke volumes. We did a 5 day foster at first to make sure she got along with Zuri.
From the moment she came into my home, we knew she was our forever dog. We are so thankful CAP saved her. And by adopting her I knew we were opening up a spot for another dog to be saved.
She’s the greatest dog, we adore her! She loves belly rubs and ice cubes and traveling in the car! She’s best friends with Zuri. We have been so lucky and blessed to have her! -Audrey J
After losing our beloved dog, we went to the shelter looking for a new companion and best friend. The moment we saw Mia (formerly Molly), we instantly fell in love with her.I picked her up and she rested her head on my shoulder and she didn’t want to let go of me. She was playful and full of joy.
Now she’s at her forever home, and she has filled us with love and affection. -Alejandra & Diego M
Bender was so shy when we met. He had a blanket over his cage. He hid behind me during our meet and greet, BUT he purred. Something told me he was the one. I was actually looking for an outgoing cat, but I felt we connected. I took him home and that was the last time I saw him for over a week. He just would not come out from under the bed. I was getting so concerned. Then on about the 10th day, I was laying on the floor next to the bed and all of a sudden, a little paw was on top of mine. He had reached out and basically high fived me, as if to say, "Let's do this." He came out and was talking a mile a minute. It didn't take him long to go beyond that room and explore everywhere. He did great with my other cat, he introduced himself with respect and now they are friends. I was so worried because my other cat is used to running the show, but he stepped aside and let Bender be the baby. I was very proud of him. Anyway, it took me forever to name him, but Bender fits even if you don't know the show. He LOVES to play and has boundless energy. He is obsessed in particular with this 1 toy. He will cry if it needs to be charged. He loves to explore and cruise around on your shoulder while you do things, looking at everything. He is fascinated with water and the shower. He often sits on the edge of the tub while I take a shower. I adore him. Bender is loving life. We both thank you for bringing us together. - Jennifer P
Pickles was originally adopted from CAP as a second kitty for our senior cat Mr. Kitty. Unfortunately he became ill and passed away in March this year, which left a big whole in our hearts and home. We knew we wanted to find Pickles a kitty friend but we needed time to grieve. After a few months, we decided it was time to start looking. I happened to be visiting a friend last week by CAP and decided to stop at the shelter on my way home. I saw this quiet sweet boy up in the kennel in the corner and knew it was meant to be. Apollo is adjusting well with Pickles in his forever home! Apollo and Pickles love snuggles, kitty treats and their zoomie time. Forever grateful to CAP and all they do for the community and families. -Heather N
Six months after our beloved orange tabby, George, crossed the Rainbow Bridge, we knew it was time to open our hearts to another orange boy. That’s when we met Oliver (formerly Nani) — a sweet, 2-year-old who had been patiently waiting in the shelter for several months.
We were told he was a little underweight and needed some extra TLC… so now he happily joins us for dinner every night! He’s vocal, adorable, and slowly learning how to get along with his two new “sisters.” We already love him so much — and we think he knows it.
Thank you CAP, for bringing Oliver into our lives! -Jennifer A
We adopted Annie Grace (Bennie at CAP) in 2014. She had been adopted and returned several times and was very scared of many people, especially men. She really warmed up to my two special needs sons (6 and 7 at the time and now 17 and 18). It took months of love and care but she warmed up to her Daddy too and he is now her favorite person. It took a lot of TLC. We love her sooo much. She is now around 12 1/2 (her age was a guess when we adopted her). Thank you for our sweet baby girl. We love her so much and she has been a great big fur sister to our two dogs on earth and our two now in heaven, training them how to be a dog. - Shannon S
When we saw Pumpkin on the adoption page, we knew she was meant for us. A week prior, we had to say goodbye to our orange tabby that was 14 years old. We are so grateful that someone took the time to rescue Pumpkin and take her in. They have given her a family. Pumpkin came right into our family and was never scared. We already had two other cats that she enjoys, and she even loves our GSD! -Jennifer R
