Welcome to CAP

kappy muenzer Dear Friends of Animals,

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website! Each visitor helps us fulfill our mission: sheltering, rescuing and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life and providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty and raise awareness in our community of the needs of animals. We hope you will spend some time with us electronically so we can become better acquainted.

A visit to the Program tab, will provide you an overview about our extensive animal care and community outreach Programs and Services. Click the Adoption tab to see some of the wonderful animals who are currently being sheltered and cared for in our facility, just waiting for adoption. Be prepared to fall in love! This same section will give you the particulars on the fees and requirements for adopting a new family member as well as the hours CAP is open for adoptions.

Under Pet Care, you’ll find informative articles on how to care for pets and guidelines for choosing the right pet for your lifestyle. Our staff members are always willing to work with each individual adopter to make that perfect match. Be sure to visit Humane Education to learn more about declawing, crating, animal laws and the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals.

If you have not had an opportunity to visit our shelter in person, please visit the photo gallery under News and Events. In addition to learning about our latest activities and upcoming events, you can take a photographic tour of our wonderful facility. Everything you read and see will illustrate that CAP has always been about raising the bar and setting high standards for animal care.

Now that we have become better acquainted, we hope you will click on the Support tab before you end your visit. There are many ways to help us help our four-legged friends: donations, volunteering, contributing to our thrift shop, volunteering and becoming a foster parent.

We also hope you will give us the pleasure of meeting you in person. Please stop by to visit the animals for adoption and meet our wonderful staff and volunteers. We are open 7 days a week and will welcome you any day, any time, during our operational hours!!

Yours for the animals,
Kappy Muenzer
Executive Director

I made a search request online and shortly thereafter received an e-mail alert that a female dog under 25 pounds was at CAP. I e-mailed and called to say I was on the way. One year old Madison was a nervous ball of energy! She came home with me the next day and became an instant sister to my two year old Sweet Pea. Every day has been a blessing that includes Maddie. If you are thinking of adding a pet to your family, check at CAP first.
