Humane Education
CAP’s extensive Humane Education program is an integral part of our strategy to improve the lives of animals. We hope that once people understand how to take care of their pets, and that it is a life-long commitment, that the number of unwanted animals entering our shelter will decline. Our goal is not only to help animals, a worthy goal in itself, but to help people through animals. CAP’s Humane Education Programs work to increase the awareness that animals are a source of joy and comfort to their human companions. They are, in fact, valuable members of the family, and, as such, should be treated with respect and love.
CAP is dedicated to animal protection with a focus on pet adoption, spaying and neutering, the pet overpopulation crises, pet care and responsibility and the humane treatment of animals. We are committed to informing the commuinity about the problems that surround homeless animals and the solutions to these problems. We are also committed to teaching lessons of compassion for all living creatures, as we believe that people who have empathy for animals will be kind and compassionate human beings in our society.
