Dogs & Puppies for Adoption
CAP has many wonderful dogs and puppies available for adoption. Also, new animals arrive every day at the shelter, so our site features only a small number of our residents. For a real canine caper, stop by the shelter, located at 11925 Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas.
Before coming to the shelter, you may want to review our Adoption Information page and print out a copy of our dog adoption application. There's not a moment to waste - the "Love of Your Life" may be waiting for you!
To Check Availability....
To 'confirm' if an animal is still available for adoption, you must PHONE CAP Shelter during normal business hours at 281-497-0591. Please do NOT write. When phoning you MUST provide both the name and the number for the animal and what type animal it is, such as dog, cat, rabbit, etc. NOTE: Things change daily so please do NOT call more than 24 hours before you intend to visit the animal. I'm Jack a very sweet Shepherd/ Pointer mix, brown and white markings, 4 yr old male with 3 legs. I’m already housetrained, good with all age people as long you you are 'gentle' and kind. I even get along with cats! I’m just so VERY sweet, I love everyone. I’m neutered and weigh 61lbs. One look at me and I’ll steal your heart. When I was younger, I was thrown from a car. My finder had to get my front right leg amputated. I was lucky. But, my owner was unhealthy and couldn’t care for me. I’d make such a good friend and I’ll provide lots of company and love if you’ll take me home.

Don't yo just LOVE my ears?!!! As you can see I'm a super cute female Shepherd mix., 4 mo old. I am still a young pup now. I will one day be 50+lbs when I grow up. Great with older kids and adults. I enjoy learning new things and having fun. I was found as a stray. It’s pretty lonely out there, especially at night. Hoping you will take me home. I don’t need much except love and attention. I'm a nice mix of Schnauzer and Terrier mix. I’m a brown and black 4 months old male. Right now I’m a mere 10 lbs, but won’t get bigger than 20lbs. I am working on potty training as I am just a puppy still. But I learn quickly and try to please. I am good with gentle people 5 and older. I love everyone though. My former owner lost her job and could not afford to keep a dog but I don’t need much, just a place to call home and someone that will love me. Can it be you?
